What is Mastercard SecureCode / Verified by VISA? 

This is an additional security tool for authorizing the use of your payment card during online shopping.How it works?
The Mastercard SecureCode/Verified by VISA security system is based on a secure Internet purchase password of your choice. This is a private password known only to you. It ensures additional cardholder authentication at online shops across the world.

How it works?

Whenever you pay for a purchase or service at an online store, the MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by VISA security system uses a single password — a code generated by Digipass or a password and SMS code generated by the Password+SMS authentication tool. This provides additional authentication of the cardholder in online stores around the world.

How to use it?

With MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by VISA, you can continue shopping online the same way you have until now. The only difference is that after you enter your card details the MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by VISA window will open, prompting you to enter your Digipass code or Password+SMS authentication password and SMS code. After you enter the requested information, your personal authentication is completed, and the purchase will processed within seconds.

MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by VISA is an additional security tool for authorizing the use of your payment card during online shopping.

Each time when you shop online, you will be prompted to enter an additional authentication password and/or code. If correct information is entered, the purchase will be authorised.

By entering correct authentication password and/or code when shopping with a participating e-merchant, you confirm that you indeed are the authorised cardholder. If wrong authentication password and/or code is entered, the purchase will not be completed. Thus, even if someone else knows your credit or debit card number, the purchase cannot be completed without the authentication password and/or code.

The authentication tool generates the code in the same way as when you connect to the Internet Bank. In the case of Password+SMS authentication, before entering the SMS code you must first enter the password of your Password+SMS authentication tool. If you are using Digipass for authentication in the Internet Bank, you must enter the code generated by Digipass.

You can use any of your MasterCard, VISA or Maestro payment cards — all our payment cards are registered with MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by VISA program.

Since no installation of specific software is required, you will be able to make purchases protected by MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by VISA from any computer.

In the event of card change, the arrangements for online card payments remain unchanged.

The new payment card will be automatically connected to MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by VISA.

Many e-merchants participating in MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by VISA display the logo of the program on their sites. Even if the logo is not visible, the e-merchant may still participate in the program. If that is the case, you will be promoted to enter the authentication password and/or code when making a payment at the online store.

When you use a payment card registered with the MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by VISA at online stores participating in the program, the merchant will recognize the number of your MasterCard/VISA payment card when processing the payment.
