Baltikums Bank: One of the TOP 101 Most Valuable Companies in Latvia

A list of the 101 most valuable companies in Latvia was released last week, with 16 financial companies, including the Baltikums Bank, being ranked on the list. For the 7th time in the past 10 years, the Baltikums Bank has been declared to be one of the 101 most valuable companies in Latvia.

“Latvia’s most valuable companies are the greatest value for us in the direct sense of the word,” say the authors of the list. “They are the biggest taxpayers and employers, and they are the backbone for our economy.”

According to AS Prudentia and the NASDAQ Riga stock exchange, “Despite the tense geopolitical situation that seriously influenced the work of many companies in 2014, these enterprises have managed to adapt to the market situation, and the results from 2015 that were used to determine the top 101 companies in 2015 were successful. If we look at the Top 101 list over the past 10 years, we see that companies in Latvia have managed to adapt to the most complicated market situations, always demonstrating their spirit of development and struggle. This means that we can expect positive developments in the more distant future, particularly if we look at growth during the past five years.” 

The list of Latvia’s 101 most valuable companies is an important public initiative, and it was been organised since 2005 by the investment bank service and financial consultation company Prudentia in partnership with the NASDAQ Riga stock exchange. Organisers of the initiative hope to facilitate public discussions about the value of companies and factors influencing them. This was the 10th year that the list was released. It reflects the value of corporate businesses, while the equity capital value is taken into account for financial enterprises.
